Andres Carullo

Senior Trial Attorney

Bio

Attorney Andres Carullo brings a wide range of experience and perspectives to the practice of criminal defense, enabling him to see the big picture that other attorneys often miss. While observing every facet of a case, however, he is also immediately assessing how to best prepare the case for trial to ensure clients can get the most from the process. Preparation is the key to success, so he starts preparation from day one.

“Clients know that I am persistent,” he notes, “but I am also optimistic and sincere.”

His focus on preparation has paid off over the years as he has successfully defended clients in a variety of situations, covering everything from misdemeanors to aggravated felonies. Before focusing his practice solely on criminal defense, Andres also helped clients resolve difficulties with family law, including complex divorce and custody issues. Criminal defense situations frequently involve matters of family law as well, so this experience provides insight that can often prove invaluable to clients.

Andres started his legal career in the compliance office of the athletic department at Southern Methodist University. He then honed his skills in complex litigation by working on a large-scale lawsuit involving claims brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Federal Corrupt Practices Act. At the same time, he gained litigation experience of a more personal variety by assisting clients with family law matters through Legal Aid of Northwest Texas.

Andres is a bilingual attorney and a native Spanish speaker who always tries to put clients at ease so they can feel confident revealing information to him. He takes the time to explain the factors that have a bearing on each client’s case so they gain a full understanding of the criminal justice system and how their case fits into the picture.

“When people contact me,” he explains, “I want them to feel like they were heard. I want them to feel more comfortable with their future moving forward, and I want them to feel like they're in good hands with me.”

A member of the State Bar of Texas, Andres has been practicing law in Texas since 2012. He serves as an active member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Florida International University in Miami and received his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan.

Outside the office, Andres enjoys following and participating in a variety of sports. He particularly enjoys biking and spending quality time with his family. An advocate of animal welfare, he considers his beloved pets as members of the family.
